Charlie Nicholas on his hopes for Celtic’s ‘thrilling night’ against Real Madrid

CHARLIE NICHOLAS thinks Celtic can spring a huge surprise at Real Madrid tonight.

Ange Postecoglou’s side host the European champions at Celtic Park in the Champions League group stage opener.

It is the first time the Hoops will be playing in UEFA’s top competition since 2017 under Brendan Rodgers.

Nicholas wrote in the Scottish Daily Express: “The world class of European football will show up at Celtic Park this evening as Champions League football returns following a five-year nonattendance – it will be a shocking evening. The Parkhead unwavering expect such a huge amount from this Celtic side currently, realizing they are equipped for bringing significant hardship to any group.

“Celtic can possibly go two objectives up inside the initial twenty minutes, considering how well they have been beginning of late.

“I think the allies focus on evenings like the successes over Barcelona and AC Milan and they’re pondering internally that this Celtic group can follow that, or far better it. Yet, this is Real Madrid, we are discussing an enormous move forward for Celtic here.
